OVERVIEW

This programme is designed to produce Assistant Nutritionist/ Dieticain capable of formulating and planning diets for all groups of people in Hospitals, Schools, Catering.

 

objectives

 

 
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to:
 

  • Prepare therapeutic diets to prescription 
  • Undertake nutrition and dietetic file survey under supervision
  • Carryout basic catering Operations
  • Assist in the planning of menu in catering and food industrie.
  • Act as diet supervisors in Hospitals, Hotels, Schools, Industries, Canteen and Social Welfare agencies
  • Plan and administer public enlightenment programme
  • Assist in assessing and formulating the nutritional qualities of food product products in food industries.

PROGRAMME STURCTURE

 

The duration of the programe is 2 years

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

 The minimum entry requirement into national diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics program is five (5) O level credit at not more than two (2) sittings in GCE, NECO, WAEC or NABTAB. which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry,Biology/Agriculture and one from : Geography, Economics/Commerce, Food and Nutrition, home management relevant, NTC/NBC & NVC trades.
