The department of Public Health, Newgate College of Health Technology, Minna has today held a seminar for her 200 level students where the students highlighted various environmental illnesses that are not so common in Nigeria.
The seminar focuses on illnesses such as; Autism, Sepsis, Influenza virus, Lyme virus, Parkinson’s disease, Zika virus, Arteriosclerosis, Cystic fibrosis and Pneumonia.
One of the lecturers in the department, Mr. Elvis Akpodinyo noted that the essence of the presentation is to emphasize on the relevance of public health practitioners in bringing some of these unknown illnesses to limelight as well as the preventive measures in curbing its spread in the society.
The students had an extensive discussion giving a backgrounder on the illness, causes, signs & symptoms as well as various modes of transmission, prevention & control and its importance to public health.
