The Department of Health Education and Promotion (HEP) has continued its Computer-Based Test (CBT) Professional Examination successfully, marking another milestone in the academic journey of its final-year students.
In addition to the smooth conduct of the examination, the department distinguished itself by emerging victorious in a keenly contested three-horse Project Defense Competition organised by the Board. The competition, which featured two other institutions alongside Newgate College students at the same venue, ended with HEP securing first place, reaffirming its academic excellence and competitive edge.
The winning presentations covered topical public health issues, including:
Effects of Drug Use and Abuse among Senior Secondary School Students
Menstrual Hygiene Knowledge and Practice among Female Students
Impact of Health Education Intervention on Malaria Prevention Practices among Nursing Mothers in Niger State
Speaking on the achievement, the Deputy Provost and Head of Department, Dr. John Akiboh, commended the students for their outstanding performance. He praised their level of preparedness, attributing the victory to the institution’s rigorous training and commitment to excellence.
Dr. Akiboh further reaffirmed the department’s resolve to maintain its enviable record of consistent success in the Professional Council Examinations, setting a standard of pride for both the department and the college at large
