In a spirit of pride and celebration, the Pharmacy Technician Department of Newgate College of Health Technology, Minna joined the global pharmacy community at the General Hospital, Minna, to mark the 16th edition of World Pharmacists Day on September 25, 2025.
The theme for this year, “Think Health, Think Pharmacist,” echoed across the world as a powerful reminder of the indispensable role pharmacists and pharmacy technicians play in shaping stronger and more sustainable health systems. The event radiated an atmosphere of reflection, recognition, and renewed commitment to the noble calling of pharmacy.
Representing the Department, Pharm. Mohammed Alfa Isah, a Senior Lecturer in the Pharmacy Technician Department, delivered a heartfelt message that captured the essence of the celebration:
“World Pharmacists Day is not only a day of recognition but also a day of rededication to service. The theme, ‘Think Health, Think Pharmacist,’ reminds us that pharmacists stand at the very heart of healthcare delivery, ensuring that every patient receives safe, effective, and quality medicines. At our Department, we are not just training technicians; we are nurturing future custodians of health—professionals who will serve with compassion, integrity, and excellence.”
Pharm. Isah further praised the resilience and sacrifices of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across the globe, describing them as silent heroes whose impact resonates in every hospital ward, community clinic, and public health campaign. He called on students to embrace the celebration as inspiration, a reminder that their chosen path is one of service, honour, and humanity.
