Pharmacy Technician Students Visit Niger State Drug and Hospital Consumables Management Agency
It was a day of learning and inspiration as students of the Pharmacy Technician Department, Newgate College of Health Technology, Minna, paid an educational visit to the Niger State Drug and Hospital Consumables Management Agency (NSDHCMA).
Led by the Head of Department, Pharm. Dr. Murtala Sanusi, the visit was aimed at giving students firsthand exposure to the operations of the Agency, particularly in the areas of drug management, procurement, and distribution—all vital components of modern pharmacy practice.
The team was warmly received by the Executive Director, Dr. Umar Ndagi, alongside other Directors and senior officials of the Agency. Dr. Ndagi commended the Department and the College for their commitment to academic excellence and practical learning, noting that such visits play a vital role in producing competent pharmacy technicians who can contribute meaningfully to the healthcare system.
In his address, Dr. Sanusi appreciated the Agency for opening its doors to the students, explaining that the visit was part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world practice.
Speaking on behalf of the students, Benita Alobo expressed deep gratitude to the Executive Director and his team for the warm reception and the wealth of knowledge shared during the visit.
The Niger State Drug and Hospital Consumables Management Agency (NSDHCMA) serves as the coordinating body responsible for the procurement, management, and distribution of essential drugs and hospital consumables across public healthcare facilities in the state.
