In a bid to enlighten her students and further strengthen classroom learning with real-life perspectives, the College invited the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to the Public Health Technician Department for an enlightenment lecture on “The Use and Abuse of Drugs in the Society.”
The session, held earlier today, proved to be both enriching and thought-provoking. The NDLEA team spoke extensively on the dangers of drug misuse, its devastating effects on individuals, families, and the larger society, while also highlighting preventive measures and the importance of awareness.
The lecture, which ties directly into the students’ course content, gave them the rare opportunity to connect theory with practice. Students engaged actively during the interactive session, asking relevant questions and sharing perspectives on how young professionals can contribute to curbing drug abuse in their communities.
According to the College leadership, inviting the NDLEA was a deliberate effort to broaden the students’ understanding, prepare them for their future roles as health professionals, and equip them with the right knowledge to serve as advocates for healthier, drug-free societies.
The lecture was received with enthusiasm, leaving students more motivated to rise to the challenge of becoming agents of change in the fight against drug abuse.
