Public Health Technician Department Leads ‘Pad a Girl’ Campaign Concludes with Impactful Outreach in Minna

The Public Health Technician Department of Newgate College of Health Technology, Minna has successfully concluded the second phase of its “Pad a Girl” campaign with a highly engaging outreach at Government Girls Day Secondary School in Minna, Niger State.

The final phase of the campaign was marked by an electrifying and interactive session with the students, focusing on personal hygiene and menstrual health education. The session created an open and supportive environment where students actively participated, asked questions, and gained practical knowledge essential for their wel’l-being.

Following the intensive lecture, over 200 sanitary pads were distributed to the students, reinforcing the campaign’s mission to promote dignity, confidence, and proper menstrual hygiene practices among young girls.

The Principal of the school expressed heartfelt appreciation to the management of the college for the thoughtful initiative, commending the department for its commitment to empowering young girls through both education and support.

With the conclusion of this phase, the “Pad a Girl” campaign has reached a significant milestone. Across the two phases, more than 400 packs of sanitary pads were distributed to students in secondary schools, alongside impactful health education sessions delivered by the department.

The initiative stands as a strong testament to the college’s dedication to community service and preventive health education, in line with its guiding principles of Knowledge, Excellence and Character. The Public Health Technician Department continues to demonstrate that meaningful change begins with awareness, education, and compassionate outreach.
